About us

I am an independent health and safety competent person / consultant based in Leicester, with a strong manufacturing and engineering background, shaped by hands-on leadership within global manufacturers such as Bosch, aerospace manufacturing operations, and direct advisory work with SME directors operating in high-risk environments across the UK.

I have advised a wide range of small and medium-sized businesses through competent person service agreements, both as Director of TIPS Consultancy Ltd and previously within a professional health and safety consultancy. My work has supported clients in Leicester, Birmingham, Brandon, Southall, Cambridge, Edinburgh and Manchester, delivering tangible improvements in legal compliance, operational control and director confidence. One client described my approach as “refreshingly direct – no fluff, just what actually matters.”

My experience extends to manufacturing health and safety, fire safety compliance, and the practical application of UK health and safety legislation in a manner that insurers, auditors and regulators expect to see clearly evidenced. This includes hands-on fire risk assessment work and supporting directors in implementing defensible, proportionate and workable control measures.

Alongside manufacturing and industrial environments, I also support organisations across a broader range of sectors, including care homes, nurseries, offices, storage and warehousing, motor vehicle repair workshops, retail premises, facilities management, gyms and leisure facilities, and education settings, applying the same risk-based and proportionate approach.

It is this combination of academic rigour and real-world experience that defines how I work. I understand the legal responsibilities placed on directors and senior managers, as well as the operational pressures they face, and I apply a risk-based, proportionate approach that protects people, operations and the business itself.
